Meet Vinny, Your Web Guy

I built my first website back in 1996 for a community organization… a fife & drum corps… I belonged to. The Internet was pretty new back then, in fact, I was still on my 30 day free trial from MSN. All there was was dialup, and when 56k modems came out, that was a big deal. We didn’t have fancy web building software. We coded everything by hand. You actually had to learn html.

I called up a buddy of mine who was a programmer, recently graduated from college, and asked him if he know how to build a website. His reply: “No, but it can’t be too hard. Let’s see if we could figure it out.” And so we did.

That became my new passion, and everytime I got passionate about something, I was fortunate to find a way to make a living at it. From playing the drum, to fixing motorcycles (and teaching motorcycle safety!), to writing and publishing newsletters, I’ve had very few jobs I didn’t love. So it wasn’t long before I was building websites for hire.

Today, with the technology being more sophisticated but vastly easier, everyone should have a website. It can be for your business, hobby or even a family website just for fun. It’s so inexpensive! My first domain name (which I still have) cost $75. Today it’s only $15. Web hosting was over $100 a month for 10 MB of web space. Today you can get unlimited hosting for 6 or 7 bucks a month.

And with me as your web guy, you’ll be able to add to your site whenever you want after I set it up for you. It’s easy and fun!
